General and Restorative Dental Care

Children's Dental Care

Your children are welcome in our office! We treat kids of any age with gentle hands and a kind approach. As your family's dental care provider, we want to help our young patients understand the importance of good oral health and homecare habits. We may recommend dental sealants and fluoride treatments to ward off tooth decay. If development issues exist, Dr. Gibbs offers early intervention with orthodontics, which will deter future problems. Call to schedule checkups for your whole family today.

Complete Dental Exam

Expect a comprehensive exam at your bi-annual checkups. We'll screen for oral cancer, a deadly disease, with our ViziLite system, and we'll also look for signs of gum disease. A bite evaluation and tooth-by-tooth exam will give us the information we need to help keep your teeth healthy and your bite comfortable.

Periodontal Program

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss for American adults, so our hygiene team will partner with you to eradicate gum disease and prevent recurrence. We may recommend scaling to remove hardened plaque from below the gum line, root planing to smooth rough areas where plaque tends to collect, and or Arestin antibiotic treatment to kill infection. In some cases, damaged gum tissue needs to be removed to promote healthy new tissue growth. We use an electrosurgery unit for accurate, in-office periodontal surgery. Advanced cases are most often referred to a trusted periodontist.

Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays

A tooth compromised by damage or decay that is too significant for a filling may require a lab-made restoration. Dr. Gibbs often replaces large, old fillings with a ceramic inlay or onlay to restore structure and a natural, white appearance. A crown restores larger problem areas, like cracks and large chips. It covers the portion of a tooth that extends above the root line. Crowns can be made from porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or precious metal.

Crown and Bridge

Missing teeth cause many oral problems, from speech and diet issues to a risk for bone loss and a shifting bite. Dr. Gibbs often recommends bridgework to replace one or more missing teeth in a row. A bridge attaches to crowned abutment teeth on either side of the gap.

Dentures and Partials

Statistically, people with missing teeth don't live as long as those with teeth. You don't have to compromise your image, quality of life, and lifespan with missing teeth. Dr. Gibbs offers comfortable, natural-looking replacement teeth with full or partial dentures.

Implant Restorations

Implants offer the closest prosthetic tooth to nature's own. Dr. Gibbs works with an oral surgeon for placement of the small, titanium implant posts. He then attaches lifelike dental crowns atop the posts in the comfort of our East Liverpool office. With dental implants, you can eat what you want, whenever you like. Find renewed quality of life and self-esteem with dental implants!

Full-mouth Reconstruction

Oftentimes, patients need multiple restorative procedures to regain optimal oral function and appearance. Dr. Gibbs can assess your situation, discuss your concerns and goals, then create a custom plan for full-mouth reconstruction. Whether decay, disease, or injury has stolen your smile, rest assured, Dr. Gibbs can get it back.

Orthodontics

For children and adults, Dr. Gibbs offers orthodontic therapy with straight-wire braces, retainers, and Invisalign clear braces. If you want a straighter smile, call for an orthodontic consultation today.

TMJ Therapy

Sometmes patients grind their teeth during sleep, which can result in damage. To protect your mouth while your slumber, Dr. Gibbs provides quality TMJ therapy services.
